Some really classics from the Underhive...

The first project, I am going to do with my new lighting:

Workspace Update -- LED light halo/arc --> "tent"?

After my halogen lamps getting so old that the plastic casing started falling apart -- literately! --  seeing this, was the final nail in the coffin. So easy to use and achievable these LED stripes nowadays! Only a slight warning: there are actually (at least?) two different types of LED sizes that have quite different brightness. So you want those with "5050" in the name, i.e., the brighter ones, not the 3528s, which are smaller/fainter! Both are available on 5m long stripes with 300 LEDs in total. You can even get complete sets with power supply and remote control all in one at your favorite online retailer.

It seems that most people use thin aluminium bars of 2m length, which have the advantage of being nicely bendable and easy to work with. However, in my local DIY store those were rather expensive. Then, fortunately, I found the plastic mini cable trunking: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Mini-Trunking---White-12-x-8mm-x-2m/p/109642

Super cheap, and even easier to work with! So this is how I arrived at my slightly asymmetric version of a light halo! :-))

Still, the result is really smooth homogenous lighting almost without any shadows. -- Really highly recommendable!

Another advantage: Easy and fast WIP photos:
