After a long absence in hobby due to travel and work, finally I managed to paint the first Goliath gang member: A dynamic bloodthirsty Juve... (painting time ~4hours).
Unfortunately, I do not have built a new photo box yet. Thus, the pics are with direct yellowish light... quite shitty! Sorry for that!
Welcome to the belly of the beast...

you news from my hobby life as a

Goliaths - basing finished!
During the weekend I had some hours of spare time, so a friend of mine and me we made a little handicrafting session, here is the result:
Unfortunately, I had no camera with me, so you can only see them now with a basecoat of black and some white from the source of light direction (top in this case :-)).
In addition to the basic box of Goliaths from GW, I also bought one of these extremely funny Hasslefree miniatures: Mutant Joe. I slightly modified him (with a chain for one fist and vambrace for the other arm, and of course some grenades! ;-):
Finally, I put some lead under the bases to make same standing more stable, especially for gaming purposes...
Cheers and let the painting begin!

Goliaths - Basing process started...
Hi there,
during the week there was not much time for hobbies so far. But eventually, I managed starting to base the Goliath gang. First, I did the leader: For this I tried to change the position of one leg and one arm. Unfortunately, the metal is quite difficult to work with. Thus, I mainly srewed the back of the mini. To disguise my failure, I put a bolter on his back :-)
The others were kind of similar: I did only small modifications to change the position they are standing: as for the heavy. Later, I will use some milliput green stuff equivalent to fill up the notches (from the cutting). These are the 5 first gang members:
Of course, this is only the raw build, the details here will be added later, like dirt, dust and empty bolt shells...

Unpacked - Goliaths
Hi, slowly the Necromunda project is evolving... I managed to get a box of the old Goliath gang miniatures at ebay... still boxed! Let's see how my first gang will look like...
I start with some preparatory work, like cutting the artifacts from the casting process and drilling the gun barrels (very important! See the bad comments at CMON!;-)). And finally some soap... my gangers will receive a last shower beofre I throw them in the dirt of the Underhive! ;-)
So, now we are ready for the basing process: Of course such cool guys, as the Goliaths are, they will need some really awesome bases full of tech and trash! But let's see tomorrow... (yawn)

The Anti - Watchmaker
Hi there!
Right now I am searching for bits, all kinds of bits I could use for the industrial filth of Necromunda and its inhabitants.
So I found this watch, and I once read somewhere in one of these nice miniature blogs, that a watch can contain nice little parts for bases and conversions. So, I decided to undo the watch. :)
But not as a proper watchmaker, no here at Super Massive Beast we only care for miniatures... (evil laughter).
First, how to open such a damn thing?! No, screws no nothing...? But of course google helps: A sharp knive you use to get rid of the plate on the back:
Hm, not much inside! But with some accurate violence and a cutter, after 1-2 more minutes I get the following new bits:
Especially, those little cute cog wheels!
Now, I need another watch...
