Building the Untamed Beasts from Warcry

Hello everyone,

after playing one round of Warcry at my friends place, I was immediately (and completely) hooked! What a simple, elegant, and fun game! And fast and compact. Perfect, if you do not have a lot of time/space!

"Unfortunately", my friend took the Iron Golems for himself, so I found myself in the challenge of creating an Untamed Beast gang to my liking. I have to say that while I like a lot the dynamical sculpts of the Untamed Beasts, I am not a big fan of their outfit/design. Found it not fully consistent with the metal helmets kind of between savage and classical chaos marauders.

But then looking more at all the bones, I had the idea: what if this warband would not use any metal things? Only bone! Bone is magical, full of life force of the creatures that the bones once belonged to! That would also be the opposite of the Iron Golems! My Untamed Beasts would despise metal! Cold, dead, without power.

In addition, I thought that my Untamed Beasts would come from the hot unmerciful savanna, so less fur! And here we have our concept!

Ah, one thing: I do not like GW putting everybody so many weapons, at least one per hand, and huge! So I had to reduce this too.

Corpse Grinder Cultists finished!

Salute!

And here come the first five of the Corpse Grinder Cultists! My idea for them was to achieve a look between chirurgeon and industrial butcher, i.e., the clothes in plastic white/grey and the "tools" in (once) shiny chirurgeon steel. For contrast: blood! Lot's of blood! Long live the Lord of Ski and Sinew!

For the skin I used Gulliman Flesh Contrast paint, while the metal is done with Vallejo Metal Colour Chrome over gloss black base. The blood was applied by toothpick.

How big are... Palanite Subjugators from Necromunda: Dark Uprising -- Size Comparison

Hallo!

Not only the new Corpse Grinder Cultists are impressive also the Palanite Subjugators are quite intimidating! They look like they get the job done!

I build a few as well as a few 'normal' Enforcers.

I could not resist to make a few little conversions to the Palanite Enforcers.

And here the size comparisons:

And finally a direct comparison of the Subjugator armour to the 'normal' one:

How big are... Corpse Grinder Cultists from the Necromunda: Dark Uprising -- Size Comparison

Ciao!

As soon as the Necromunda: Dark Uprising box appeared, I had to build at least some of the Corpse Grinder Cultists immediately!

Here they are:

I really like the sculpts! However, there is one downside with this particular gang sprue: After the other Necromunda gangs bombarding us with extra bits, the one of the Corpse Grinder Cult does not leave too many pieces for the bits box, mostly heads and a few axes:

Painting the Zombicide (Classic Core Box) Survivors & Abomination

Happy new year everybody!

Since a very long time, I planned to paint the survivors from the awesome Zombicide Game.  A few weeks ago, I finally got to it! Obviously, I had start with the survivors from the initial core game!

First, I wanted to give them 'proper' bases to help distinguish them more easily from the zombies (which I am painting as well).

Then, I cleaned them and primed them, with black from underneath and white from the top (not shown):

My personal challenge for the painting of the survivors was to paint them as close to the artwork as possible.

And here are the results for the first four:

Phil:

Ned:

Wanda:

And Amy:

And one of my absolute favorite sculpts of the Zombicide Game:

(I swear that I did not see the nasty mold line on the back of the Abomination until it was too late, face palm)

Does this remind you of a famous TV series?
