Some upgrades to my hobby room -- Making posters and box covers out of box covers

Buenos tardes seniores!

When I was recently cleaning up my hobby room, resorting my collection of unbuild miniatures and sprues, I decided to compress my stash to improve my space situation. This meant that I had to combine sprues from different GW boxes (my previous storage medium) into large, transparent plastic boxes. This needed some kind of labels, and looking at the beautiful cardboard boxes from GW, I had the following idea:

In addition, some of the box covers also make perfect posters!

Always loved this artwork from the (very) old Tyranid Army Box:

How big are... Iron Golems, Warcry -- Size Comparison

Hola!

In case you live behind the moon: The Warcry miniatures from Games Workshop are awesome! Super dynamic, just awesome design. In particular, the Iron Golems are my favorite Warband. Therefore, I build them out of the box without any need to change anything:

So here the size comparison (with typical 40k models):

Imperial and Heretic Statues from Kromlech -- Quick Review

Howdy,

I recently bought my first stuff from Kromlech: the Imperial Statue, the heretic Chaos Space Marine statue, and the corresponding pedestals:

I was impressed by the size and quality for such a good price! The imperial one even comes with 4 different helmets! I can honestly recommend those for your Imperial (or heretical) city world!

How big are... Blackstone Fortress Escalation -- Size Comparison

Heyho!

To finish off the interesting characters from Blackstone Fortress, here the new characters from the Escalation box in size!

First the explorers:

Neyam Shai Murad, Rogue Trader:

Neyam is good company for Janus Drake:

Gotfred de Montbard: Crusader from Escalation

Although I love the pose of the 'classical' Crusader model from the Daemonhunters, I have to say that the 'updated' Gotfred is more impressive:

Aradia Madellan, Primaris Psyker:

Compared to the classical Primaris Psyker model:

Daedalosus, Technoarchaeologist

And compared to the older Techpriest sculpts from Forgeworld and from the Imperial Guard

X-101, Servitor

Impressive dude!

And here the new Firebrand Cultists :

The last guy with the lance flamer is particularly impressive, a massive guy!

How big are... Elucidian Starstriders -- Kill Team -- Size comparison

Hi again,

of course, the classical "How big are..." article for the Elucidian Starstriders shall not be missing!

Here they are in comparison to typical citizens of the Imperium, and other Rogue traders:

Quite tall Elucia Vhane, Rogue Trader!  Almost like a Primaris! Well, maybe it all the enhancements that she did to herself over the last centuries. Or, it is the shoes... ;-)

Captain Nietsch on the other hand, is certainly enhanced but not a giant.

Interesting: the size comparison of Knosso Prond, Death Cult Executioner, with an old Witch Hunter Death Cult Assassin:
 Slightly bigger, this Knosso!

And finally, the Rogue Traders among themselves:
From left to right: Neyam Shai Murad (Blackstone Fortress Escalation),  Janus Drake (Blackstone Fortress Core Box), Elucia Vhane (Rogue Trader Box)

Kill Team -- Rogue Trader -- Elucidian Starstriders build

Merry Christmas everybody (or rather: long live the eternal Emperor!)

I hope you have some relaxed time these holiday season! I am using this time to catch up with some of my hobby documentation on this blog (if you follow me on Instagram, you know how far behind I am!).

So first off: Here are the Elucidian Starstriders that I have finally managed to build.

When I first saw them, I have to admit, I did NOT love them, at all! Too retro, too classical 2D the poses. That kept me from buying the box for a long time. Only when I struggled so much to get the Gellerpox part of the Rogue Trader box on Ebay for a reasonable price, I decided: What the heck, let's give them a chance and buy the box.

And now that I saw them in 3D, I have to say, I like them much more. Just a few little repositioning was necessary:

First, the Lectro-maester Larsen van der Grauss with his super static super old school pose. I guess GW did this on purpose? Anyway, fortunately, there was this inspirational artwork that better encompasses is fearless curiosity, so I did this slight reposing accordingly.

Then, we have heavy weapon specialist Grell, one of the voidsmen. He just needed a little head direction change:

How big is... The new Chaos Space Marine Sorcerer -- Size Comparison

Hi all,

I assume you love the new Chaos Space Marine Sorcerer model as much as I do! Really a nice little gem that GW brought us there so close to Christmas!

Obviously, the important question is now: How tall is this guy? Is he truly heroic for a Chaos Space Marine? Possibly even as tall as a Primaris?

Well, the answer is...

So, while he makes the classical sorcerers look like a child, he is not taller than a "normal" new Chaos Space Marine, and thus still not Primaris scale.... buh! Well, well, some little conversion will be needed to make this guy a proper Chaos (anti)-hero...

Interesting also the new Sorcerer backpack, which looks very similar to the classic one but is actually quite a bit narrower!
